Making the switch to raw? With KURI, itās easier than you think. We recommend a gentle 7-day transition: start by mixing just 25% KURI with 75% of your dogās current food for the first two days. Gradually increase to a 50/50 split on days 3ā4, then 75% KURI on days 5ā6. By day 7, most dogs are ready for 100% raw ā and loving it.
As a general rule, adult dogs should eat around 2% of their body weight daily. For example, a 10kg adult dog would need about 200ā300g of food per day. Puppies need more ā up to 6ā9% of their body weight to support healthy growth ā while senior or less active dogs may need slightly less. You can feed straight from the fridge, frozen, or gently thawed on the bench ā our medallions are portion-friendly and easy to serve.
Expect to see real results within weeks: smaller, firmer poos, a shinier coat, calmer energy, and better breath. If your dogās new to raw, we suggest starting with the Chicken, Heart & Tripe blend ā itās mild, gut-friendly, and hard for even the fussiest eaters to resist.

Benefits of Raw Feeding

Improved digestion and nutrient absorption
Raw feeding enhances your dogās digestive efficiency, allowing them to better absorb essential nutrients. By consuming natural, unprocessed food, dogs experience fewer digestive issues like bloating and constipation, leading to overall better gut health.
Healthier skin and coat
A raw diet is rich in natural oils and nutrients that promote healthier skin and a shinier, more vibrant coat. Dogs fed with raw food tend to have fewer issues with dryness, itchiness, and dandruff, resulting in a more lustrous and resilient coat.
Increased energy levels
The high-quality proteins and balanced nutrients in a raw diet provide sustained energy, helping your dog stay active and playful throughout the day. This diet supports muscle growth and maintenance, contributing to a more energetic and lively pet.
Better dental health
Chewing raw bones and meat naturally helps clean your dogās teeth, reducing plaque and tartar buildup. This not only improves their dental hygiene but also leads to fresher breath and stronger teeth and gums.
Stronger immune system
A raw diet boosts your dogās immune system with a rich supply of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. This strengthens their natural defenses against infections, allergies, and diseases, ensuring they stay healthier and more resilient.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I mix raw with kibble long-term?
Absolutely. Some dogs do 50/50 forever, others have raw breakfast and kibble dinner. Do what works for your family and budget. Perfect is the enemy of good.
What if my dog doesn't like it straight away?
Try different proteins ā some dogs prefer lamb to chicken, or beef to fish. Add a tiny bit of their favourite treat on top initially. Most dogs come around once they realise this isn't another boring meal.
Is it messier than kibble?
A bit, but not as bad as you think. Feed outside if you're worried, or use a mat. The upside? Way less mess in your garden because their poos are smaller and firmer.
What if I mess up the transition?
You won't.There's no perfect way to do this ā just start where you are and adjust as you go. If your dog gets an upset tummy, slow down. If they're doing great, speed up.Trust your instincts.
Can I prepare meals in advance?
Definitely. Many customers portion out a week's worth and defrost daily. Just use within 2-3 days once defrosted, and don't refreeze.
What about puppies?
Raw is brilliant for puppies ā it supports healthy growth and development. They need more frequent meals (3-4 times daily) and higher fat content. We can help you work out the right approach.
